New Zealand

No fruit picking although it’s a sunny day 🌞

The word weekend is unknown to kiwi fruit pickers. If we get a day off it’ll be a rainy day. Today was a rare occasion as we had no work and the sun was shining. I think we made the best out of it.

Yesterday after work we still had enough time to buy a guide book for rock climbing in the North Island and a climbing rope. Today we used it. On the way up to Mt. Maunganui you come across some rock formations where you can climb up to 20m high. We invited Leonie and Dan to join us. So we climbed with them today. It was their first time to go rock climbing outdoors. It looked like they had a lot of fun!

For us the biggest issue was to guess how difficult a route might be. Of course here in New Zealand they use another rock climbing grade. Though, we could find some easy routes.

In the afternoon we have been to the beach and tried to fly Dan’s powerkite. That was big fun!

As soon as the kite was getting closer to the ground, it developed some huge forces

This day gave us a pretty good impression how our life after the kiwi fruit picking will be. It could be worse.
