Yesterday night we enjoyed some beers at the campground in Otautau ? and went to bed quite late. I tried a cider with lemon and mandarin flavor and it had a somehow strange and really sweet taste – actually just perfect for me ?
We slept in today and just got everything packed around noon. Luckily, about the second car picked us up when we wanted to hitchhike back to the trail ? So I figure sleeping in was just fine as we could have also waited for about 2 hours instead of 2 minutes for a car to stop and give us a ride ? So thanks a lot to the nice persons of Otautau for picking up hitch hikers ?
The trail crossed some Farmland at the beginning and we had to open and close (!) some gates. ? and ? were always looking at us today ?.
The trail continued in the Woodlaw Forest, and for a nice change the trail was quite dry. No big mud pods to cross, yay!
As we had a very late start and felt somewhat lazy today, we decided to look for a nice spot for pitching our tent when it is about 6 or 7pm. Some flies scared us off from the first nice spot we found – really nasty flies, I called them “poop flies?” – but luckily we saw another spot just a few meters off the TA.
